FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is LedgerGrid?

LedgerGrid is an approval and accountability tool for money leaving a business. It routes reimbursements, vendor invoices and pre-approvals through a sequential, timestamped approval chain so nothing gets lost and everyone can see whose turn it is.

Who is it for?

Teams that pay out money regularly — reimbursing staff, paying vendors, or approving budgets before spending — and want ownership, timestamps and a clean audit trail instead of email threads.

What can I submit?

Three kinds of request: a reimbursement (someone paid out of pocket and gets paid back), a vendor invoice (the company pays a vendor directly), and a pre-approval (get a budget blessed before spending, then convert it later).

How do approvals work?

You configure who signs off and in what order. A request moves through each named approver in turn — they can approve, decline, or adjust the amount — and only reaches the accountant to be paid once the whole chain is clear.

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. Traffic is over HTTPS, sensitive banking and tax-form fields can be encrypted at rest, access is role-based (agents never see raw account numbers), and every view of sensitive data is logged. See the Security page for details.

How much does it cost? Is there a trial?

One plan: $99/month, or $891/year with three months free. It starts with a 30-day free trial (card required, cancel anytime). Your whole team can submit for free — you only pay for approvers and accountants.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. LedgerGrid is an installable web app (PWA) — add it to your home screen, snap a photo of a receipt, and it auto-fills the vendor, amount and date so submitting takes seconds.

Does it handle multiple companies?

Yes. The platform supports multiple companies with a strict wall between them, and one-click CSV and PDF export for the books.
